HFFL Week 1 Matchup Preview
NOTE: All Odds & Projected Points are subject to change
Tale of the Tape
Our first matchup is a juicy one, as we’ve got Drink Paint taking on Spiderman. With every new fantasy season, a lot of things change. One of the only constants is that no one knows what’s going to happen in Week 1. All eyes will be on Ja’Marr Chase as he takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary. Will he be able to start off the 2026 season with a bang? Or will the Bengals continue to make Joe Burrow’s life hell, to the point where he won’t be able to get the ball out on time? For Spiderman, A.J Brown is going into Year 1 with the New England Patriots. People are asking if he’ll be able to help Drake Maye elevate his game, and we’ll see how he does against an elite Seattle secondary. Everyone is 0-0, but it’s how you respond after Week 1 that determines the pecking order of the HFFL.
Tale of the Tape
If you need $1.34 million dollars in a hurry from multiple woman (who may or may not have been scammed), then Daejon Love Boat is the team for you. The duo of Eli & Delrossi are looking for Saquon Barkley to run all over the Washington defense. With the Arizona Cardinals looking the same as last year, will Trey McBride be able to recreate his fantasy output from last year? They’ll need all the help they can get so they can beat Tyler and the Smoking Darts. Tyler is expecting big things from his team this season, as the Giants fan is looking for Jaxson Dart to not end up in the blue tent. Amon-Ra St. Brown is the main guy in Detroit and looks to rack up fantasy points against the New Orleans Saints. Who comes out 1-0 in this matchup? Will Daejon Love Boats be able to scam Smoking Darts out of a win? Or can Smoking Darts end Week 1 smoking a victory dart at the local dive bar?
Tale of the Tape
As a Chicago Bears fan, Rome Improvement is attempting to replicate the recent success of his favorite team. Justin Jefferson is going to have his work cut out for him when having to catch passes from Kyler Murray. If he can get back into superstar form, Highlights is going to have a nice Week 1. With some solid picks in this year’s HFFL draft, Highlights is looking to come out of Week 1 with a win versus the Master of Computers: We Are Groot. With the 2nd pick, the computer obviously steered him towards Bijan Robinson. With two QBs who struggle to complete even the simplest passes, Robinson is geared up to somehow surpass his workload from last year. This is going to be one of the closest games of Week 1, let’s see which of the two ends Monday night 1-0.
Tale of the tape
When they got the first overall pick in this year’s HFFL draft, Take These Dak Shots had a tough decision to make with the first pick. After a quick conversation, Vincent & Grain made the choice to take Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs will look to bring Take These Dak Shots to the finish line in Week 1, as he has a nice game against New Orleans. The real story is Brock Bowers, the #1 TE in fantasy this year who is playing against the insanely awful Miami Dolphins. It would be shocking & sad if Bowers choked such an easy matchup in Week 1. On the other side of the matchup, the defending HFFL champion Travisless Mahomless looks to fight off the championship slump and not poop his pants so early in the season. As I said before, the Dolphins are terrible, but De’Von Achane is the only glimmer of hope they have. With him on Joe’s team, he literally has the entire Dolphins offense as his RB1. Can he run all over the Raider’s defense? He’ll have to make sure he can get away from the sober Maxx Crosby if that is going to happen.
Tale of the tape
In the 5th matchup of Week 1, we’ve got another close one with Big Yahu taking on The Sea Shepard. It’s the same old thing with Yahu as he yet again has Christian McCaffrey on his squad. The injury prone RB has to play against the reincarnation of the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, which has the substation salivating with excitement. Aaron Donald & Myles Garrett are going to make McCaffrey wish he was back home with his supermodel wife. On the other side of the matchup, The Sea Shepard is sailing out to sea with Captain Josue guiding her through the ferocious waters. Can Mike McDaniel turn Omarion Hampton into a top 5 fantasy RB? With a Week 1 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, that fantasy could turn into a possibility if everything goes to plan. It’s going to be neck and neck between these two strong teams, but who will come out on top in this battle of the war criminals?
Tale of the tape
The final matchup of Week 1 is a doozy, as we have last year’s ultimate loser of HFFL Season 7. Drakes on a Plane is looking to start off Week 1 with a win, and he’s got a decent shot against Sadiq deez Nuts. Puka Nacua is going to chomp away the 49er’s secondary for big gains, and Drake Maye is going to put up a statement fantasy game against Seattle. On the other side, Sadiq deez Nuts is looking to put a damper on Shiner’s season of redemption. Andrew Ram’s team hurts the eyes a bit, but that isn’t going to stop the onion boy from starting off Week 1 with an upset. It could start with Caleb Williams, as he goes against the Carolina Panthers and have a big game in Week 1. With the 6th matchup review of Week 1 in the books, we now look to the first Sunday of football to offically start the 2026 fantasy football season.
